Ingenium

A busy construction lawyer leaves the corporate world to fly solo and work from home. What could possibly go wrong? Well, juggling stressful deadline-driven work while caring for young children soon killed his productivity.

So he leased two adjoining commercial spaces on the ground floor of a recently completed residential building in St Peters, NSW.

The two tenancies were separated by an entry to the residential levels above, but the client needed a functional and pleasing layout with a reception area, private boardroom, offices, and an open-planned workspace for future growth.

Architect Amrish Maharaj devised a plan that placed the main reception area at the building entry adjacent to the private offices and open-plan area.

Clients are greeted at reception and then taken directly to the boardroom in the adjoining second tenancy without having to transit through any offices.

Planning was meticulously worked in with the unique floor plate to deliver the brief, while celebrating otherwise unusable areas through a series of strategically layered material selections.
