‘New Wave’ – Warriewood

‘New Wave’ – Warriewood

Tucked between Warriewood and Narrabeen on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this idyllic Australian beachside home encompasses an indoor-outdoor lifestyle.

Expansive glazing frames the unimpeded ocean views and free-flowing navigation.

With interiors and the exterior designed by Studio Gorman, this family home blends right into its surroundings.

Its tonal palette incorporates timber and stone to reflect the outlook.

Studio Gorman’s clients bought a weathered 1950’s beachfront cottage in 2010.

They lived there for eight years with their young family before knocking down and embarking on entirely a new build.

Studio Gorman’s brief was to make the most of the breathtaking location and design a contemporary home consisting of four bedrooms and three bathrooms set across three levels.

The family home was to feel welcoming and connected to its surroundings with a focus on sustainability.

The Studio Gorman team was engaged in the final planning stages.

They were asked to review, finesse, and detail the approved building design that had been completed by others.

That review led to a larger role that included reworking the interiors and exteriors extensively and then working with the client to support the design implementation throughout construction.
