Pelham

Pelham

Pelham is a contemporary articulation of timeless design located at 54-56 Wattletree Road, Armadale in Melbourne.

Designed by Ewert Leaf, the unique collection of twenty-one spacious two and three-bedroom apartments boast refined artistry and sophisticated minimalist finish, with a fundamental connection to the surrounding landscape.

The clean-lined interior design promotes a modern lifestyle, by combining everyday functionality with layers of unexpected features and details.

Soaring ceiling heights and expansive windows enrich the interior spaces with a sense of grandeur.

An abundance of natural light fortifies the balanced palette of finishes, featuring natural textures and tones.

Pelham enriches the lifestyle of its residents, offering spaces to retreat, rejuvenate and reconnect.

Ultimately, what the Ewert Leaf design team strived to create is a development with a difference.

This challenge has generated a design outcome that is not only a commercial success but has elevated the perception of apartment living to a superior and highly sought-after lifestyle choice.

Situated on a prominent main road with narrow bounding laneways, the 1,392m2 site offered accessibility.

But at the same time, it presented the challenge of creating a sense of privacy and retreat from the surrounding active setting.

The discerning downsizer market was identified as the dominant and target buyer for this prestigious, well-esteemed area.

So the Ewert Leaf design team ensured that the interior design appealed and resonated with these anticipated future residents.

The exclusive and idyllic address in Melbourne’s Armadale was a primary source of intrigue and inspiration for the interior design.

The sophisticated and complex demographic of the area combines affluence with authenticity, elegance with practicality, and measured with creativity.

It is this intricate balance of a multifaceted context that has been emulated in the design of Pelham.

The creation of an interior which appeals to a unique and discerning demographic is a beneficial formula for the future of apartment design.

What has been created here is a new aesthetic that transcends the generations and is applicable to a broader spectrum of lifestyles and definitions of ‘home’.

The interior design is beautifully executed as an extension of the architecture, celebrating an honest use of materials and integrity of built form, while pushing the boundaries of convention and expectation.

Pelham emanates the sophistication of contemporary design, while feeling established and grounded, with a sense of familiarity.

The considered design outcome has an air of refinement and luxury while feeling modest, homely, and authentic.

Another key point of difference with this new approach to apartment living by Ewert Leaf is the measured execution of proportions and sense of scale.

The generosity of each residence succeeds in more than just scale – it extends to the quality of appointment and the lifestyle on offer.

Each home has been individually crafted to empower its occupants through astute spatial planning to maximize functionality and comfort while offering tailored luxury through bespoke joinery, quality appliances, fixtures, and fittings.
