Victorian Cricket and Community Centre

Victorian Cricket and Community Centre

Designed by COX, the Victorian Cricket and Community Centre (VC3) is a state-of-the-art, dedicated, year-round cricket training and administration facility that services both regional and metropolitan cricketers, as well as providing facilities for community use to support sport, social, health, and educational programs.

VC 3 is home to the Men’s and Women’s state cricket teams, 20/20 franchises, and the historic St Kilda cricket club, and is the first elite-level training facility to provide equal facilities for male and female players.

It is Victoria’s second venue that complies with first-class cricket standards and offers a complementary alternative to the Melbourne Cricket Ground for Cricket Victoria’s first-class cricket needs.

The facility provides best practice training, coaching, and player preparation facilities for all levels of the sport (from the club level to the state representative team level).

And it consolidates Cricket Victoria’s administration, development, and training functions into a single location.

That enables Cricket Victoria to operate more efficiently and effectively and incorporates facilities that are open to the community.

It supports grassroots and junior development programs on a year-round basis.

The venue, whilst being designed primarily around first-class cricket standards, is fundamentally flexible, giving consideration to future major event opportunities such as Twenty 20 Cricket and associated event opportunities.

The anticipation of these allied events influenced the COX design and provision of infrastructure to accommodate future elements such as technology, broadcasting, and lighting.
